Sale-a-Bration - Paper Blooms DSP

DSP - What is DSP?

Well it is the abbreviation of Stampin Up's Designer Series Paper.

And Paper Blooms DSP is one of the beautiful free items you can get with a $50 purchase of Stampin Up products.   This paper is so easy to use.  I will show you several cards made with it and a Scrapbook page I  made for my daughter.

Another cool thing about this paper is the In Bloom Bundle (Item 156208) which is coordinating stamps and dies found in the JJ2021 Mini Catalog.  These stamps and dies work perfectly with this paper.  The dies will put Stitched details on the paper.  So pretty isn't it.

This image is from the Sale-a-bration brochure and it shows what I was just talking about with the dies.  This bundle is on my wish list for sure.

In Bloom Bundle

So get ready for these cute cards made with the Paper Bloom DSP.

Several of the cards also feature the A Touch of Ink Sale-a-bration stamp set.  Watch for a post about these stamps soon.

Look at how Paula Skeen used the DSP to frame up the center images.

This uses small strips of the DSP to give interest to the right side of the card.  Think of the endless ways that strips of paper could be used on a card.  I love using patterned paper strips to create a background for my focal image.

Card by Brook Hobbs

Viviane Taveres used so many things to make this beautiful card.  She used another Sale-a-braton stamp set called Heal your Heart.  I think we all can use a bit of healing these days.

This is a beautiful card by Joya Bohman.  She used paper strips too.  Isn't it crazy how the different use of the DSP makes a new look even though the paper strips are about the same size.

This scrapbook page uses the strip of one of the B side (simpler patterns) torn on an angle to create a border for the page.  I also fussy cut out the flowers and circles to create the embellishments.  Some of the flowers and leaves are popped up using Stampin Dimensionals which is one of my favorite items from Stampin Up.  The title is even created using the navy from around the flowers I fussy cut.  I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to cut the title.  This paper took less than an hour to create and that includes all the fussy and die cutting.  I could have made it quicker if I would have just glued the title straight to the page but I like dimension so I cut all the bits out of scrap white card stock several times and glued them together to get a raised title.  See the picture below for a better view.

Yes I had many tears with my daughter last spring wondering what the end of her Senior year would be like.  It was very different but I am so grateful for the amazing teachers and administration she had who tried to make it as special as they could.

I think I need to add some bling to this page though.  I'm thinking either some Rhinestone Basic Jewels or Pastel Pearls.  Which do yo think would be better? I think I am leaning toward the Pastel Pearls.  Watch my Instagram for an updated photo with the embellishments.

Happy Crafting and remember this Paper Blooms DSP is only available until Feb 28 with your qualifying purchase.  Click on my shopping link for all your Stampin Up products.

Sale-a-bration! - Darling Donkeys

 Hey friends,

I'm making so birthday cards today to celebrate all the fabulous people I know.  What are you up to?

I just wanted to share some cards using the free Darling Donkeys stamp set.  Yes this set is free with any $50 purchase until Feb 28, 2021.

So if you want any of these items just click on my shopping link.  I am happy to help you any way I can!

Just look at the faces.  I love them!

These cards are from a monthly card exchange with fellow Stampin Up Demonstrators.

Card 1

This cute card by my friend Joya also uses the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper.  The Rocco Rose and the Granny Apple Green pattern papers are both from that DSP paper pack.  Watch for another post sharing more of this paper, and there are several more cards today that also use this fun patterned paper.

Card 2

This fun card uses many things from the annual catalog.  The Buffalo Check background stamp, Swirly Frames stamps, Layering Circle Dies, Highland Heather ink and card stock, Pearl Basic jewels are among the items used.

Card by Mandy Moose

Card 3

Have you noticed that all of these cards used the same donkey stamp.  Yet the each look so different.  This card is a fun fold z fold card.  The designer series paper used is from the annual catalog, called Playing with Patterns.  The white card stock was cut suing the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I love this scalloped edge.

Card by Lore Webb

Card 4

This is a card I created featuring all the donkeys in the Darling Donkeys stamp set.  I love all the sassy character these donkeys portray.  I also used the Oh So Ombre DSP in Granny Apple Green.  I just can't get enough of this paper.

Card 5

This donkey makes me think of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.  Eeyore has long been a favorite at our house even as all the kids have grown up.  This card also uses that Oh So Ombre paper again.  This time it is in Bermuda Bay.

Card by Marjeen Nation

Card 6

This is another card I created and again using the simple but oh so beautiful Oh So Ombre DSP.  I used a stencil and a new blending brush the make the polka dot background.  Then using both sides of the DSP, Granny Apple Green and Blackberry Bliss to layer under the donkey.  The twine is from the Snail Mail Suite in the Jan - June 2021 Mini Catalog.

I think I know what was the favorite donkey in this set.  It is the sassy one kicking up her heels.

Explore Blossoms In Bloom Bundle

want to tell you about a set of products I absolutely adore: the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle! This beautiful, versatile bundle includes the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set and the Many Layered Blossoms Dies.

Even better? You receive a 10% discount when you buy this or any bundle!

One of my favorite things about the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle is the simple watercolor effect. Painting with standard watercolors can be tricky, but with the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle, achieving the artistic look of watercolor is a breeze!

In this cute package, the blue flowers and some of the leaves were just stamped.  And look at that awesome water color look.

Although the watercolor effect is beautiful, you can create a variety of different looks with this set.

In this example only the dies are used to create the beautiful layered look.

If you’d like to discover what else you can do with the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle, let me know! I’d be happy to place an order for you.

I will be sharing more examples in the next few days.

Happy Crafting!

Discontinuing Designer Series Paper

Hello Friends

I have been having so much fun making projects with the Designer Series Paper (pattern paper) that will be discontinued from Stampin' Up!  Aaaahh.  I'm so sad about some of this beautiful paper but I'm also so excited for all the new papers Stampin' Up! will be releasing on June 3.  Yaaay!

So I wanted to share some of the projects I have been making.

1. Post-it Pad cover

These were made with Peaceful Poppies DSP from our current mini catalog.  I think this paper is my current favorite.  I am stocking up so I can document all my poppy field pictures.
I will have a short video on how to assemble these cute gifts on my instagram @meacrafts, so hop on over and check it out.  When ordering from my shop use Host code 3PEKXT6X and get an additional gift from me.

2. Paper Masks

Such a fun addition to a simple card.  The cards are using sentiments from Stampin' Up!'s #sharesunshine digital release.  All the proceeds from this will go directly to Covid-19 relief and research.  The download has 15 pages of sentiments.  FIFTEEN PAGES in case you didn't get that the first time.  And you can print them as many times as you want. Such a great deal for a great cause. If you are interested here is the link available in 5 languages!

3. #doublewonder Cards

#double wonder is an awesome card class where you take 2 6"x 12' pieces of DSP and make 11 cards. I will be offering this class soon so watch.  The cards pictured here show one of the 4 card designs that you will make in this class.  This happens to be my favorite because of the special fold.  The DSP uses is ....... Yep you guessed it Peaceful Poppies.  Like I said I really like this paper.

Watch for more info on the #doublewonder class and the other card styles.

Below is a list of the Designer Series Paper names and item numbers.  Besides being beautiful and lovely many of these collections of paper are ON SALE.  Waaahooo!  Here is a link to my online store to get your favorites. And don't forget to use my host code 3PEKXT6X.

Starting a New Chapter!

Happy Thursday Ya'll!  For the next couple of weeks I'm a Texan.  Actually not, the younger kids and I decided to travel to Texas with my husband so we can be with him while he works.  Crazy thing to do during a pandemic right! We decided since we spend time with family right now then let's not break the habit.  So we sit in the AirBNB house while he goes to work.  Then we get to see him during the evening.  It has been a fun change but I bet in 2 weeks we will be ready to go home.

So the card I'm sharing today is a fun Pop-Up card!

This will be for my daughter who is graduating.

I used Check You Out stamps, Pool Party, Basic Gray, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Suede, Call Me Clover & Crushed Curry Inks, and Regals Designer Series Paper as well as Whisper White Card Stock.

I hope she enjoys the pop-up feature.

I love making special cards for special people.

If you have any questions leave me a comment and don't forget to visit my online shop.

Over the Moooon for you!

Holy Cow it's a slider card!

This may look hard but it is really not.

Items you need

Card Base - I used and A2 sized base then trimmed about 1/4" off the bottom.
Card front - Mine measures 4x5".
Desired Images
Paper Trimmer or Xacto knife
Pull Tab - Mine measures 3/4" x 7" - Score in half
Stabalizer tabs - I used 2 - 1/4" x 2 1/2" strips

Okay here is the low down

Take your card front and cut two slits evenly space from each other.  I wanted mine in the center about 1" from the top.  Cut them as long as you want your slider to move.  So I cut mine at 1 3/4" from each side and made them about 2" long.

Take the stabilizer tabs and insert one at the bottom of the slits and adhere one to the top back of the card.

This is the back fo the card.  Remember the only adhesive used so far is to stick the top strip the the card front but on the back.

Next fold you pull tab in half (this helps it to be stronger, can use tear and tape to adhere together) and position it in the center of your stabilizers and the bottom lining up with the bottom stabilizer.  You can use some washi tape or low tack tape to temporarily hold this in place.  Now put a small piece of double stick tape along the bottom of the pull tab and fold over the stabilizers so they are around the pull tab. *Only put tape on the bottom of the pull tab. Next use more double stick tape to adhere the stabilizer to itself.  When you fold the stabilizers around the pull tab do so snugly but not too tight or the pull tab will not slide very easily.

The slider mechanism is now done! Yay
Now is the time to do all your ink blending, stamping etc to your card front. Do this before you add the element that will slide.  Ask me how I know.  I was ahead of myself a time or two. =)

When you are ready to add you element take a mini dimensional and put it on the stabilizer portion visible on the front of the card.  If you make the stabilizer thicker then you can use a regular dimensional.  Then attach the sliding element (in my case the cow) to the dimensional.  I like to pull the tab and make sure all is working right.  When your element is pulled up then you can hide another image under it.  It is finished.  Yay.

If you want more ideas for this stamp set see my post yesterday.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I'd would love to see your slider cards.

Happy Stamping

Cow's it Going?

Good Morning Crafty Friends

Cow's it going? OR How are you all doing?   Is anyone tired of that question yet?  I actually don't mind it but I would rather be answering it in person and having some good crafty time with my peeps.

Well onto a new card with the Over the Moon Stamps.  I was so sad to hear this set will be retiring.  I am making up for it by making awesome cards with it while I can.

I love making different shape cards every now and again. This is a slim line card which measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" and it fits nicely in a #10 envelope.  It is a great way to make a tall scene.  Isn't this super cute though with all the cows on the grassy hill.  And the sentiment!! I love it.

Here is what all the images in the set look like! Aaaahh!

I just love all the cute cows.  It is nostalgia from growing up on a farm.

This stamp set is $20 and item 149331.  Remember all retiring items are only available until June 2 or while supplies last.

Come back tomorrow and see another fun card I made with this fun set.

Until then Happy Stampin and Party til the cows come home!
